Let’s Sell This Winter!

Is Winter the best time to Sell?

In a word, Hellyeah! Pardon my profanity. There’s no time like the present I always say.

Think about it. If you’re waiting until Spring, so is every other Seller thinking that Spring is going to be a hot market. It will have some sizzle, download (22)but aren’t you forgetting about that Buyer who needs to have his or her family in a home before February or early March? They need love too. Show your love for that Buyer by contacting your local real estate professional and getting Your Home on the Market as soon as possible.

Don’t forget to talk to your real estate agent about general appearance so your home is as inviting as possible to potential Buyers. Since you only get one chance to make a First Impression, here are a few exterior improvements to consider:
Massachusetts Home sale preparation tips

  • Evaluate your driveway and get it seal coated if it looks old and tired. Seal coating is fairly inexpensive and really does wonders to give your home a new and fresh feel.
  • Clean out your gutters. Leaves coming out of  your gutters creates a feeling that the home has not been cared for.
  • Hose down your deck and consider seal coating the surface if necessary.
  • Look for any rotted trim boards and replace as needed. This is a common inspection item.
  • The entry way to your home should look magnificent! A fresh coat of paint on the front door always looks terrific. Remove any cob webs as this is a place they often are found.
  • Consider adding a few potted flowering plants at the entry with some vibrant colors.
  • Use a garden hose and spray down any areas of your siding that may have mold or mildew build-up. ***Courtesy of Massachusetts home staging Bill Gassett

To Your Health & Wealth,

R.E.I.N.V.E.N.T.I.O.N…is the mother of Growth!

Well here we are in third week of 2019 and it’s time for a R.E.I.N.V.E.N.T.I.O.N. of me and my business. What about You? What needs to be Reinvented in your life? It doesn’t have to be a business. You could have a job that you’re seeking to reinvent yourself to position for a promotion. It could be you want to lose that last 15 pounds you’ve been struggling with and you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired. It could be a relationship that you’re in – businessromanticfriendship — that you realize is toxic and needs to end in order for you to begin to put your best foot forward.

Whatever it is, You Can Do It. I Know You Can Do It.

I’ve had many jobs in my life. I’ve bounced from one job to another never satisfied. I was always looking for more. Now I realize I was always looking for me. Look at the word,  m-o-r-e. I was looking for meAre you looking for you? Have you found yourself yet? If you haven’t then it’s time to Challenge yourself. Challenging ourselves is how we grow. We have to volunteer to step out of our comfort zone or get pushed out of our comfort zone just like the mother bird pushes her babies out of the nest if they don’t choose to take flight on their own.

I’ve been pushed to fly by my Team Leader in our office to take BOLD – Business Objective: A Life By Design. This is a 7-week Workshop where each individual is pushed to Growth. I did attend in 2015 and to be perfectly honest, I vowed with every fiber of my being that I would never do it again. However, life changes and you realize that Growth is necessary to achieve your desired result. Sooooooo…..I’m in BOLD – again!

This time I am approaching it with more vigor and enthusiasm. I even created this BOLD Goals Flyer for myself highlighting what I want to achieve. img_20190118_133017This is my Inspired Creation and I wanted to share it and put it out there in the Universe in the hopes that it may help someone else and now that I’ve shared it, I can’t hide from what I am saying I want to achieve. No room for Excuses. My Intention is to Create the Best Life for Myself and I want everyone else to do the same. It’s no fun being the only one at the top.

Gone — Not Forgotten

img_20190110_183417I’ve paid homage to my Uncle HaroldIMG220 on numerous occasions however I’ve never paid homage to his other half – his better half let him tell it — His Wife, His Soulmate, My Aunt Ryoko– lovingly img_20190110_183417called Yoko. I must apologize for that. That was not my Intention. However, now that I am aware of this neglect, my intention is to fix that by paying homage to my Aunt Ryoko Hardy.

I don’t know much of her life only what I was told by my Aunt Vera who raised me after my mom died when I was five.

The story goes that my Uncle Harold went to war and came home with a new Wife – His Soulmate and better Half – My Aunt Ryoko. There was talk of her family disowning her because of her choice of husband. Aunt Ryoko is from Japan and I am assuming the Japanese culture is against marrying outside of one’s culture or race. However, my Aunt Ryoko made her choice and came to the United States as my Uncle’s wife and they initially settled in Louisiana. I know that because my mother, Sarah, who was alive then sent them a letter and it was addressed to them in Louisiana or it was mentioned or something like that.

My Uncle Harold wanting my Aunt Ryoko to feel as much at home as possible, found a location where there was a larger number of people who looked like my Aunt Ryoko – other Asians – in Seattle, Washington. My Uncle Harold bought a home there and moved from Louisiana to Seattle and made a home and a life for him and my Aunt Ryoko.

They lived there for many years until my Aunt Ryoko died in 2004 while visiting her family in Japan. My Uncle Harold had to fly there and bring her body back home to eventually be buried with him when he died in 2014.

I said all of this to say a Belated Happy Birthday to My Aunt Ryoko Hardy. Her birthday is the same day as my sister, Denise Hendricks – January 8th. I don’t want my Aunt to think for one moment that she is forgotten. I don’t know if when she returned to her birthplace in Japan if her family forgave her or they otherwise reconciled their differences before she ascended. If for some reason that is not the case, I want you to know Aunty Yoko that we love You and you may be Gone – Not Forgotten.

If you’re fighting with family members or friends that mean something to You. Stop!

Let them know you Love them and Hug It Out.

To You & Yours,
